My Faith Journey and 2025 Goals
I’ll be honest, I’ve had a bit of an on-again, off-again relationship with my faith over the past few years. But this year, I feel a strong pull to return to my spiritual roots and really nurture that connection. I’ve shared about my 2025 goals on my channel, but this post is about my spiritual development or faith goal specifically. I just want to take this year to rebuild my relationship with God and develop strong habits to get back into prayer and scripture. To help me on this journey, I’ve invested in some incredible Bible study tools that I’m excited to share with you.

Building My Faith Toolkit
Now, before I get started, I want to emphasize that you don’t need a mountain of resources to have a meaningful faith experience. A simple Bible and a willing heart are often enough. But for me, these Bible study tools provide structure, guidance, and inspiration as I delve deeper into my studies.
Bible Study Tools that I’ll Be Using in 2025
- Bibles:
- My everyday Bible: A well-loved New International Version (NIV) Bible that’s been with me for years (since 2014!). This is my go-to for daily reading and scripture referencing. I made the floral cover from a pattern I drafted myself from the dimensions of this bible. Sorry I don’t have a resource to share for that!
- A new study Bible: A Christian Standard Bible (CSB) Study Bible for Women. I chose this one because it’s a different translation than my everyday Bible and it’s packed with helpful study tools like character profiles, word studies, timelines, and maps. It’s perfect for those times when I want to dig a little deeper into the meaning of a passage.
- Dwell Audio Bible: The Dwell audio bible has been a game changer for helping me stay focused on reading scripture (I listen while I read to help my brain stick to a single train of thought). I also I look forward to the Dwell Daily Devotional every morning and I listen to the “The Lord is in This Place” ‘Sleep to Scripture’ story every single night.
- Bible Tabs: These are a lifesaver for navigating my study Bible! I chose the “Citrus” set from The Daily Grace Co because the colors complement the linen cover of my CSB Study Bible.
- Bible Study Resources:
- Bible Handbooks: I picked up two handbooks from The Daily Grace Co: the Bible Handbook (a book-by-book guide) and the Bible Study Handbook (a guide to reading, understanding, and applying the Bible). I’m eager to explore both and see which one best suits my needs. I plan to do a full comparison video of these soon. Subscribe so you don’t miss it!
- Bible Studies: The Daily Grace Co offers fantastic year-long Bible studies, and I’ve stocked up on a few! I chose these specifically because they focus on foundational practices and concepts in Christianity. I’m currently working through “Growing in Grace” about spiritual disciplines, and I’m also looking forward to the following:
- “Is God Enough for Me” (this study, about contentment, was gifted to me by the Daily Grace Co!)
- “The Attributes of God“
- “Preaching the Gospel to Yourself“
- “The Lord’s Prayer“
- I’ve also got my eye on the Lent study “‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus“

- Journals:
- Scripture Journals: These themed journals offer daily scripture prompts and space for reflection. I have several, including ones on prayer, contentment, the life of Jesus, and faith, among others. I plan to use these journals as Bible study tools along side the studies they align with.
- Prayer Calendar: This calendar provides daily prayer suggestions and weekly verses to memorize. I mainly use it for the chronological Bible reading plan, which I’m following this year.
- Gratitude Notebook: This discbound notebook is where I jot down my daily gratitude, prayers, and notes from my Bible study.

- Other Helpful Bible Study Tools:
- Bible Reading Plan guide: This book is a great resource for exploring different Bible reading plans.
- Accessories Pouch: This pouch holds all my essential tools, including a Bible highlighting guide, Bible study prompt cards, highlighters, pens, and a ruler.
- Thin Tip Highlighters: These are my preferred tools for highlighting in my Bible. They don’t smear or bleed through and they have a nice thin tip perfect for tiny Bible font.
- Pilot Frixion Fine Liners and Gel Pens: These erasable pens are perfect for writing notes in my Bible.
My Approach to Bible Study
I’m a big believer in making things work for you, so I’ve developed a system that helps me stay engaged and focused during my study time. Along with my favorite Bible study tools, I use a combination of highlighting, note-taking, and journaling to process what I’m learning. And I always try to remember that this is a lifelong journey – there’s no need to rush or pressure myself to understand everything at once. Let me know if you want me to show you how I annotate my bible!
