Functional Planning Studio Tour: How I Organize My Supplies
If you have ever wondered where all the messy, behind-the-scenes planning happens, today I am taking you on an impromptu tour of my studio. Let’s look at how I organize my functional supplies without worrying about perfection.
It is easy to look online and think you need a perfectly aesthetic room to stay organized. I want to show you my real, lived-in space to remind you that planning is simply a tool. You do not need perfection to be productive!
Welcome to My Messy, Lived-In Studio
Normally, you only see my hands and my desk from a top-down view. Today, I am pulling the camera back to show you the whole room. This is where I film, edit, and manage my own daily plans.

My storage systems are not perfectly color-coordinated, and that is completely okay! I prioritize having my most-used tools within arm’s reach so I can get straight to planning without digging through drawers.
My Favorite Planning Tools & Accessories
If you watch my videos, you know I rely on a few specific tools to keep my planning functional. I keep a small organizer right on my desk with my absolute essentials.

- The Cricut Sticker Lifter: This is the best tool I have ever used for lifting stickers off the page. It is thin enough to get under the sticker without tearing the paper.
- Reverse-Grip Tweezers: These tweezers stay closed when you let go, meaning you can grab a sticker, get distracted, and put the tweezers down without losing your sticker!
- Dual-Tip Markers: I keep my Erin Condren dual-tip markers organized by color in a container right at my planning station. Keeping them visible helps me actually remember to use them.
Organizing Stickers and Washi Tape
I am currently working on reorganizing my sticker stash (again!), but I rely heavily on disc bound sticker books. I keep most of my PlannerKate albums right on my desk.

For washi tape, I use an acrylic sunglasses organizer! The little dividers are perfect for holding 3 rolls of tape each. It keeps my Cultivate What Matters and Passionate Penny Pincher washi separated and easy to see.
How I Store My Printable Sticky Notes
Because I design printable sticky notes, I have a lot of them lying around! I keep a dedicated drawer just for my stash. This is mostly disorganized for now, but my goal is to get all the printed notes dispersed into my planner(s) when I set up the new ones for July.
Ideally, I like to leave the sticky notes attached directly to the 8.5×11 printing sheets until I am ready to use them. This keeps my sidebar mini calendars, habit trackers, and blank grids perfectly flat and organized.
Let’s Chat About Live Videos!
I am considering trying something new on the channel: going live on Sunday afternoons!

I have my camera and tripod ready, but I want to hear from you first. Would you hang out with me for a live weekly planning session, or maybe a live goal-setting session? Let me know in the comments below if that is something you would enjoy!
