How To Print On Sticky Notes

Printing on sticky notes is way easier than you think, and you do not need expensive equipment. You can use a standard inkjet or laser printer, regular printer paper, and standard 3×3 or 1.5×2 sticky notes.

Step 1: Prepare Your File

Open your printable sticky note file and set your printer to print at actual size. You can usually find this setting in the window that pops up when you click print.

Step 2: Print The Template

Send the file to your printer on regular paper. This prints the template sheet with the designs on it, showing you exactly where the sticky notes need to go.

Step 3: Place Your Sticky Notes

Gently peel your blank sticky notes from the pad, pulling them from the side to avoid curling. Place them directly on top of the printed paper, ensuring they align perfectly with the printed design.

Step 4: Print On The Sticky Notes

Pay attention to your printer’s feed direction to prevent jams. The sticky side of the note should face the printer’s rollers. Put your template loaded with blank sticky notes back into the printer and click print a 2nd time.

Step 5: Peel And Plan

Carefully peel the printed sticky notes from the template paper, using the same side-pulling method to avoid curling. Now you can stick them directly into your planner and move them from week to week!

Pro Tips For Success

  • Avoid Fingerprints: Minimize touching the sticky strip on the back of the notes. Oil buildup reduces adhesion and stops them from sticking properly.
  • Use Cardstock: Print your template on cardstock to keep it sturdy if you plan on printing the same sticky note file often. It saves ink and paper!
  • Experiment With Color: Try using colorful sticky notes to match the color code in your planner.
