Meal Plan for the Whole Month: August 2025
August Dinner Menu
As we dive into the new month, I want to share my simple and functional approach to menu planning for August. If you’re anything like me, you’re looking for ways to keep things calm and straightforward as the days get busier. Here’s a detailed look at the strategy behind it all and a list of the meals we’ll be enjoying.

The goal isn’t to create an elaborate, “Pinterest-perfect” plan. It’s about creating a system that helps you manage your household with grace and ease. It’s about being prepared with a joyful heart, so you don’t have to scramble for dinner every night.

Our Simple Menu Planning Matrix
I use a simple matrix to guide our weekly meals, which helps to reduce the mental load of planning. Here’s a look at our rhythm for the week:
- Mondays & Wednesdays: We focus on quick, one-pot or sheet-pan meals that require simple ingredients and minimal prep.
- Tuesdays & Thursdays: These are our busy days, so they are reserved for simple meals like leftovers or a crock-pot meal.
- Fridays: We’ve shifted to a more laid-back, “faux takeout” movie night with easy-to-eat meals like tacos or beef bowls that don’t require a fork and knife.
- Saturdays: This is our family’s “fend-for-yourself” night. It’s a great opportunity for our son to take charge in the kitchen, especially with prepped ingredients from our Sunday meal prep.
- Sundays: We have a family tradition of a crock-pot Sunday dinner, such as a pot roast. I often start it the night before so it’s ready for us after church.
My Go-To Kitchen Tools
When you’re trying to keep things simple, having the right tools can make all the difference. This month, two of my favorite appliances that help me with this menu planning strategy are:
- The Beautiful Multi-Cooker: I recently got a multi-cooker from the “Beautiful” brand, and I am in love with it. It’s great because you can sear meat right in the pot before you slow-cook it, which saves me from using the stove and heating up the kitchen.
- The Meat Shredder Tool: This round tool with handles and spikes from Amazon is a game-changer for shredding cooked chicken and beef. It makes repurposing leftovers for other meals (like turning Mississippi Roast into tacos) incredibly easy.
- PlannerKate Perpetual Calendar Sticker: I love using this simple grid sticker to easily fit the whole month’s menu on a single notes page in my Erin Condren planner. There are so many cute designs to choose from (though here I opted not to use the included decorative pieces). Be sure to use my code KK20 to save an extra 20%!
