My Simple, Anti-Burnout Goals for 2026 (And How I’m Ditching Perfectionism)
If you are like me, you might feel a little pressure right now. The world is shouting “New Year, New You!” while you’re just trying to remember where you put your keys.

This year, I sat down with my PowerSheets goal planner and made a decision: I am not chasing “perfect” in 2026. After a season of burnout in 2025, my focus for the year isn’t about more—it’s about meaning.
If you need permission to set “boring” goals that actually change your life, here is a peek inside my 2026 prep work.

1. Faith: The “Old Testament” Deep Dive Last year, I read the entire Bible chronologically, and it changed my life. For 2026, I’m slowing down.
- The Goal: Study the Old Testament using the Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner reading plan.
- The Focus: Improving my prayer life. I want to relearn that instinctive habit of going to God first with everything—the good, the bad, and the scary.
2. Health: The “Anti-Workout” Plan I’ll be honest: I don’t want to run a 5K. I don’t care about doing a pull-up. (Those were my health goals for 2025).
- The Goal: Take care of my body through nutrition (returning to the AIP protocol to heal inflammation) and simple daily movement.
- The Win: Just going for a daily morning walk. That’s it. No gym membership required (someone remind me to cancel that!).
3. Home: Decluttering for Peace (Not Pinterest) In 2025, I wanted my home to look “picture perfect.” Now? I just want it to function.
- The Goal: Declutter the whole house, one small space at a time.
- The Strategy: I’m using the weekly home projects in my planner so I don’t have to think about what to do—I just follow the list.
4. Finances: The “High School” Fund My son is learning to drive (terrifying and exciting!), so our financial focus is practical.
- The Goal: Save for a car (or to fix up the old 1968 Ford Mustang we have in the garage) and continue to steward our finances well.
- The Habit: Tracking grocery spending more accurately. I realized I was lumping random household and miscellaneous purchases into groceries, and it was skewing the budget!.
5. Personal: The “Get Dressed” Experiment I am a recovering “sweatpants and hoodie” wearer.
- The Goal: Create a simple capsule wardrobe and actually get dressed every day.
- Why: It changes my mood and productivity instantly. But don’t worry—I will never wear a trench coat (WHY is that on every “wardrobe essentials” list?!). It’s gotta be comfortable!.
Watch the Full Setup I filmed the entire messy, real process of setting these goals (including my struggle to rate my life on a scale of 1-10!).
What is ONE simple goal you are setting for 2026? Let me know in the comments!
