How to Do a Guilt-Free Q2 Quarterly Refresh
Are you feeling guilty because you fell behind on your New Year’s resolutions? If you are dealing with blank page paralysis and feel like giving up on your 2026 goals entirely, you are not alone. Let’s do a gentle, guilt-free quarterly refresh to simplify your goals and get back on track.
Note: If you can’t watch this video, it may be currently only available as early-access or as an exclusive for my channel members. Please consider joining! More details here.
The “Little by Little” Mindset
I started the year with a strong plan, but I realized I was not checking off my PowerSheets Tending List every single day. The guilt was starting to weigh me down. I had to remind myself that the point of goal setting is to actually improve your life, not to perfectly fill out a planner.
- Forgive the Blank Pages: It is 100% okay to use your goal planner for the big-picture prep work, and then move those daily tasks into your day-to-day command center planner.
- Pivot When Necessary: Life changes, and your goals can change too. If a system is not working, simplify it.
- Write an Implementation Intention: Do not just list a goal. Write down exactly when and where you will take action. For example, instead of saying “I will walk more,” write “I will walk in my neighborhood for 30 minutes every weekday after cleaning up from dinner.”

My Q2 Personal Goal Refresh
During my quarterly evaluation, I realized where I needed to scale back and where I saw the most growth. Here is exactly what I am focusing on for Q2:
- Health: Improve my energy by progressing through the AIP reintroduction phase, getting my follow-up labs, establishing a 5:30 PM digital sunset with my Brick device, and walking outside daily.
- Faith: Deeply study the book of Genesis using the Jen Wilkin framework, protect my 04:15 AM study hour, and attend Sunday service. (Watch my Bible Study Notebook Setup video for more on how I map out my verses!)
- Home: Continue decluttering the house by dropping off donations every 2 weeks, tackling the craft hallway, and making 3 minor home repairs. (Check out my Kitchen Declutter video to see how I started this process in Q1!)
- Finances: Adjust the grocery budget to realistically cover AIP meals, track household expenses, and batch my sinking fund transfers to simplify the routine.
- Personal Care & Hobbies: Protect my free time by getting off my phone so I can finish my strawberry quilt. Getting dressed in an actual outfit every single day has been my biggest growth area this year!
- Family: Support my son’s studies by helping him prep for his AP exams, build a card-writing kit, and protect our 06:15 PM couch connection time.
- Community: Protect my peace by focusing purely on attending church in person consistently.

Setting Routines for a New Season
A new quarter is the perfect time to reset your daily rhythms. I shifted my Bible study to the early morning and moved my daily walk to the evening because of the time change. Map out a simple morning, evening, and weekend routine that supports your current reality, not a fantasy version of your schedule.
